Pride Wide CIC formed in 2023. Our purpose is to benefit the public by creating: A better understanding of the lives of LGBTQI+ people in the general population, shifting public opinion in favour of LGBTQI+ inclusion. The provision of information to empower LGBTQI+ people around their freedom, equality, inclusion, visibility, health and wellbeing. Better and more informed discussion about LGBTQI+ people, issues and needs in all areas of life including among organisations, businesses and decision makers. Greater skills among people communicating about the LGBTQI+ community, including journalists and content creators and campaigners. The promotion of unity and mutual respect within the LGBTQI+ community and between LGBTQI+ people and wider society. In 2024, our activities remained limited. We delivered the second year of a project fully sponsored by Barefoot Wine (EJ Gallo). This developed on the 2023 survey we did of the experiences of LGBTQIA+ people holding hands in public, how this made them feel and the barriers they faced in doing so (for example, experiencing hatred or abuse). In 2024 we commissioned social media content creators to talk about this on their platforms, generating further positive conversations in support of LGBTQIA+ people. This raised the issue in a relatable way for people and generated an estimated reach of at least 2million viewers. We also provided consultation to an LGBTQIA+ recruitment company, myGwork.
